Timeline position is lost when more items have been loaded #439

Steps to reproduce

  1. Get really behind in reading your timeline.
  2. Tap the Load More button. (I always do this when it has the upward-pointing chevron, so that I’m loading the oldest of the not-yet-loaded posts. I don’t know if this must be the case to reproduce the bug.)
  3. Either leave the timeline exactly where it is, or else scroll upward a small amount; do not scroll up so far that the newest of the newly-loaded posts is visible.
  4. Switch away from Tusker and either force-quit it or allow iOS to eventually kill it.
  5. Reopen Tusker.

Expected behavior

The timeline is in the same position as before.

Actual behavior

The timeline has jumped upward and is now showing newer posts than it should be. Specifically, it jumps to the top (the newest post) of the batch that was loaded when I tapped the Load More button in step 2.

Thanks for the report. To clarify the timing of the issue—are you scrolling/closing the app before or after the Load More finishes? Also, what sort of device are you using?

I think I usually tap Load More and then leave the timeline in the same position while the data loads. Then I usually scroll up to see a few more posts before I put the app into the background.

I’m on an iPhone SE 3 with iOS 16.7.2.
